If there’s anything worth living for, it’s kittens trying to imitate their moms.
Another oil painting from my RISD days, likely my junior year (‘96/‘97). This was a muddy, empty lot and defunct train depot in Chicago, across from the art museum. Now this is the site of the beautiful, exquisite Millennium Park. I painted this from reference I shot by taking a series of long exposures (in the rain) and taping the prints together back in Providence. I did a lot of these panoramic urban/industrial nocturnes in those days. The process of shooting reference photos for these paintings is largely what got me into photography. Over time, I became more interested in the adventure of capturing the images and processing the photos digitally than making paintings from them—though my landscape photography often served as supplemental reference to my animation art direction. Nowadays I don’t do much photography and zero landscape painting. Hoping to reconnect with those old friends someday soon…

LGBT BRAZILIANS TAKE CARE WITH DATING APPS AND GRINDR, THEY WILL BE USED TO TARGET VICTIMS PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST
ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Whatsapp (the most used messaging app in Brazil), if you receive a contact from a “juridical support group for LGBT+ people who are being harassed” called “REAJA”, DO NOT INTERACT!!!!!!! Apparently, this is not a real support group but it’s a trap that are targeting LGBT+ people to physically harm them. They people behind “REAJA” have very malicious intentions.
Be careful and stay safe!!!!!!!
I received the contact of Reaja on sunday night. My friends and I thought it seemed pretty weird so we blocked it… We were right.
